A lot has happened in the last 50 years or so. From humble beginnings when my family started the business in the Barossa Valley, we are now South Australia’s largest wholesale rose supplier, growing over 350,000 rose bushes annually, of over 700 varieties. We are also pleased to offer our beautiful roses direct to the public through this website.
We are very proud of our special cause roses in particular and love working with different charities and organisations. Personal highlights for me include:
- Launching the Daniel Morcombe rose in April 2014. Working closely with Daniel’s parents, Bruce and Denise Morcombe, we created a classic Hybrid Tea, with beautiful dark red velvety blooms, which offers continuous flowering throughout the growing season. With three children of my own, working with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation directly has been an honour. The Foundation has been instrumental in the launch of a number of awareness campaigns and harm prevention initiatives across Australia. This award winning rose creates a wonderful display in the garden and offers a fitting tribute to Daniel’s lasting legacy.
- The release of the Black Caviar Rose in 2013. Featuring a vanilla and jasmine fragrance, the old-fashioned rose shares its name with the remarkable mare who captured international attention with her record-breaking winning streak. The partnership with Black Caviar’s owners has been a success on many levels, with royalties being returned to the racing industry to support the National Jockeys Trust.
- Launching the Peter Brock Foundation Rose at the National Motor Museum at Bathurst, fittingly on the eve of the V8 Supercars Championship. Much like Peter Brock himself, the rose is described as ‘luminous’ and features bright red blooms and a light perfume. Importantly, part of the proceeds from sales of this upright hybrid tea rose go towards the Peter Brock Foundation to support the work of Variety, the children’s charity. A branded racing car is also made available by Knight’s Roses for special events being held by nursery members; enquiries can be directed to Knight’s Roses.
We are delighted to share our love of roses with you and we hope you’ll enjoy them for many years to come. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have or to place an order.
Best wishes
